Semi Rigid

Any ideas on a dense porous material?
I am looking for a dense rigid and/or semi-rigid porous material which will absorb a solvent based chemical and will allow for the evaporation, over time, of the solvent when a constant current of warm air is passed over it. Any suggestions whatsoever will be very much appreciated? Thank you.
I plan on using a combination of Alcohol and cis-5-Octen-1-ol
What would you try to actually use this for? Your physical requirements may eliminate a variety of substances that come to mind such as clay (as in flower pots), fritted glass and some molecular sieves.
