can a tip 42 pnp power transistor be used in place of a mj2955 power transistor in a 6 volt OTL audio amp?
the circuit in question is the radio shack p-box kit of an OTL output audio amplifier that operates on 6 volts DC.
No, the TIP42 is only 65 Watt device, where the MJ2955 is a 115W device.
The NTE replacement for a MJ2955 is an NTE219. These should be available.
